I'm the Eccentric, Leader of Team Eccentric and head writer, and welcome to Team Eccentric's Undertale Green!
We are a long running fangame project, initially founded in May 2019, and have had a long history of development ups and downs. This 2024, spurred on by the excitement of the release of Undertale Yellow and the spreading fires of new fellow SOUL-based fangames, we plan on making a grand return to production.
Plans have changed and concepts re-evaluated, where new and refined ideas are taking their place. We hope to provide the upmost quality and experience you can find in a fangame, now with the wisdom of many trials and errors.
So with all this talk, what can you expect from this project?
TE! UTG - Planned Features:
A fully fledged narrative, with alternating routes, of the same scale or greater than Undertale and UTY.
A cast of original characters, and the return of a few familiar faces.
All new areas, either sides of areas you've never seen before or completely new corners of the Underground.
An original soundtrack.
Wait... isn't this what everyone says they are doing? What's REALLY different?
A deeper extension of the lore of the Underground and monsterkind, keeping inline and with full attention to the original canon.
New battle mechanics: from a new way to FIGHT to new SOUL modes and even coloured attacks.
New overworld mechanics and minigames, including a new cooking mechanic (although you'll have to see how these all pan out).
Dogs, mushrooms.
Still more dogs and mushrooms!
And the rest... you'll simply have to find out in 34XX (so put the date in your calendars, folks!)

Team Eccentric has been an ever-changing team of collective talent from across the globe. The core of the team has stuck through thick and thin, and whilst many have left its ranks, the team, as the project, beats on!

Team Eccentric's FAQ - 2024 EDITION!
Q: Who's is this Jade? Why are they called that?
A: Jade is our take on the green soul of kindness, the 6th human to fall into the Underground, and our protagonist for this adventure. They will face struggles, on the outside and from within, as they survive the dangers of a desperate Underground ever losing hope of when their freedom will come....
As for their name: the contestants of Olive and Jade at the dawn of this project initially saw the triumph of the latter. We did consider changing our minds recently back to Olive, but kudos to other fledging projects for taking the name. And so we're sticking with our classic Jade to differentiate us from the rest.
Q: Oh, so you are just another human soul prequel? How original...
A: Hey! We've been kicking since May 2019 and pre-date the recent wave of post-Undertale Yellow 'soul-games' in development (go support them all.) We are among the oldest takes on the story of kindness still around!
There was always another Undertale Green around, but we believed more in the passion of creating the story we had envisioned, and that is what we will continue to do.
Q: So your 5 years old and have made no progress?
A: Yes and no. Yes, we're that old this year, and yes we still haven't released a demo. The internal history of the project is itself a rocky road of starts and stops, ups and downs, but its a road that hasn't ended yet, nor does it intend to.
Fangames are a tricky thing to make, and remember they are made in what free time people can spare from the busyness of their own lives.
No matter what though, we promise you'll see something out of us. Like most green things though, got to give them time to grow! And cross those green fingers you won't have to wait too long...
Q: What part of the Undertale timeline is this game set? And are you linking worlds with any other soul-games?
A: Our Undertale Green takes place long before Undertale, before Alphys is scientist, nor Undyne captain, nor the Skelebros 'asserting themselves' in Snowdin.
Jade's story unfolds in a time between the falling of the purple and yellow souls, where an unsettling amount of time passed since the last human fell. Monsters grow nervous if more will fall at all, with only 4 souls in Asgore's possession.
As for connection to other fangames, TE's UTG stands independently of any other existing Undertale prequel. Where we can make references and make our story compatible with other projects, we may try but only as an after thought of the integrity of our own vision.
Q: What characters can we expect to see? New ones, I guess?
A: Oh yes, we have a cast of many new faces for you to (we hope) grow to either love, hate, or anywhere in-between about! Let's not forget a handful of familiar faces who might appear???
We will confirm that some major characters like the skeletons and the ghosts will not make an appearance.
Q: Ok, but what about Flowey? Surely he'll be the villain?
A: We made sure to de-weed our project and can confirm that at this point in our version of the timeline, as Alphys is yet to be scientist, Flowey has not been created by the DT experiments.
Expect a new villain to arise to shake Jade to their very core and make them question their quest for kindness....
Q: So... how's Jade going to die?
A: Ah well, it goes something along the lines of [REDACTED] who then [REDACTED], oh, and also [REDACTED]. So yeah, pretty sick, right!?
Q: If there are already other fangames about the soul of Kindness, why bother?
A: You are probably thinking of other Undertale Greens, of which there are one or two, most notably 'Undertale Green' by Migs. We started this project 4 months after the once cancellation of that project, and when the announced reboot occurred there was a grudge held for a while, but after a clear up we are now on very good terms with that project.
Despite there already being another popular take on the story of the green soul, there is nothing which makes it that there must only be one take. We strongly encourage others to make original soul-games of their own, and not be put off by other seemingly bigger projects and already existing projects. Go out there and make your own (ha! someone should go and make their own Undertale Yellow for all it's worth).
We do however are strongly against plagiarism and copycatting. Team Eccentric! Undertale Green will be what we believe the story of the green soul of Kindness we all love and (only really us) call Jade should be. That does not mean others have their own ideas of where they should end up or experience. And so, we continue to exist and plan to make our story.
And hey, if there is more than one Undertale Green, that just offers you a choice of which head-canon you want to personally choose.
Q: Where is Toby Fox?
A: Oh, um, ha! H-he's nowhere. Oh, probably anywhere b-but our basement. Totally not holding him hostage to help us out or anything. Ha, HA! Ha... ahem... ha... huh....
